Senior Associate Director, Education Abroad, Director of Program Development, Health & Safety
Sylvie Burnet-Jones is Senior Associate Director of Education Abroad at the University of Colorado Boulder. Sylvie has worked in the Office of International Education at CU for many years in various capacities. In her current role at the Director of Program Development, she oversees all customized programming teams, including Global Seminars (50 faculty-led programs), International Travel Registry (international non study abroad student opportunities offered by the university), and more recently the newly developed Global Intensives. She works with faculty on program development and program proposals, and training. In addition, she oversees the Education Abroad Health, Safety & Security team and is the Global Buffs (i.e. Education Abroad Alumni) Relations Manager.
Sylvie first came to the U.S. as a graduate exchange student at CU Boulder and returned to the university a few years later as lead education abroad advisor. Previously, she served as resident director for CU's program at her alma mater, the Université de Savoie in Chambéry, France, an experience that sparked her interest in international education as a career. She studied/lived abroad in the U.S., England and Germany. Since then, she has traveled to many more European countries, various countries in Asia and in North and Latin America. When she is not working or traveling, Sylvie is a proud member of CU's International Education (unofficial) gardening team.
