Celebrating Our Alumni

It’s at this time when students start moving out into the real world - on to bigger and better things. Everyone reflects on the year that’s coming to a close. And those of us sticking around look ahead with excitement to what’s on the horizon.

For graduating seniors who went abroad during their time here at CU, graduation is hopefully not too daunting of a prospect. These graduates already know they can face an unknown world and successfully handle the pressures. They know they can navigate their new surroundings with increased confidence. And they know that no matter where they end up, they can create a new home for themselves there.

We were pleased to spend the 2017-18 academic year with a renewed focus on our alumni. As our returnees have settled back into the CU Boulder community, our monthly events, such as the How to Go Abroad Again workshop and our Traveler’s Tales coffee shop sharing hour, have been a wonderful opportunity to engage with them more closely. We were particularly excited to throw our first ever grad bash to celebrate these amazing students (you can read more about the event here).

One of the things we here at Education Abroad enjoy the most about our jobs is hearing how study abroad experiences have impacted CU Boulder students, and the future paths it leads them on (something you’ll be reading more about in this month’s newsletter). We can’t wait to see where the Spring 2018 graduates end up. I know you’ll all join me in congratulating them as they head out into the world beyond Boulder!
