Coordinator for Diversity & Access
Abel Estrada participated in a field study program in Argentina with a focus on public health in urban environments. He spent the first part of the program taking intensive courses around research methods and health care systems and immersed himself in the Argentine culture by staying with a host family in Buenos Aires. For his research Abel stayed in a small city in Northern Argentina where he studied the ways in which health centers, schools, and parents worked together to teach students about their sexuality and the rights granted to them through the federal government. Upon graduating Abel worked as an 8th grade reading teacher and supported secondary initiatives for the migrant education program in the Colorado Department of Education before returning to Education Abroad to support historically under represented students in education abroad.
